TraceBrief → TypeScript port aimed at REA (in progress)
Ports fail when they hide incompleteness. This repo measures the original under REA’s strict TypeScript options, ports modules cleanly, and **byte-compares** behavior — while saying out loud what is still missing.
What it is. A TypeScript/vitest port of TraceBrief living outside the zero-dependency original so REA’s compiler flags can be satisfied without breaking TraceBrief’s “nothing to install” promise.
Relation to REA. Prepared against morluto/rea tooling conventions (#1142 context). Parity runs on Electron/native REA fixtures when present.
Highlights. Caught real bugs (e.g. readStringPath) via the harness — typechecking alone would have missed them.
Evaluation. Excellent engineering honesty. Not production-complete; read PORTING.md before depending on it.
Compliance
Tooling port for Evidence reports — lawful engineering, not a target exploit.
Takeaways
- Parity harnesses beat green typechecks.
- Say what is not done.
- Keep zero-dep originals intact when porting.
